Stage Manager and Relighting/Technical Stage Manager positions 2022

Job Title/s: Relighting / Technical Stage Manager

Production: Quiet Rebels, opening at The Belgrade Theatre in Coventry on Saturday 10 September 2022.

Responsible to: the Executive Director and the Production Manager

Notable dates:

Rehearsals Start: Monday 15 August 2022 – London
Tech week: Monday 5 September 2022 – Coventry
First Show: Saturday 10 September 2022 – Coventry
Final Show: Friday 11 November 2022 – London

Returns: Monday 14 November 2022

Touring schedule:

Contract and hours

This is a full-time position. Hours are dependent on agreed rehearsal times and show running times in line with the ITC/Equity agreement.

Payment: £600 per week. Plus touring allowances and subsistence on tour. Plus 1 extra day paid at £100/day.

Holiday: One week – dates will be confirmed upon contract.

The role will involve working with our Directors, Designers and Production Manager to stage manage the sound, lighting and visuals of the show. The Relight/Technical Stage Manager will be required to oversee all technical aspects on tour and to operate the show (in conjunction with the Stage Manager). They will liaise with tour venues, in conjunction with the Production Manager, and will be responsible for relighting the show on tour.

They will also be required to drive a Luton van, to load and unload the set, and to assist the stage manager to fit up and strike the set in each venue.

Essential Criteria:

  • experience of touring in a similar position
  • valid driving licence and willingness to drive a Luton van
  • thorough grounding in technical theatre especially lighting

Experience of driving a Luton/transit van and of the Disability Arts field is an advantage

Knowledge of/experience of operating visuals, working with visuals equipment and editing/operating both sound and visuals in QLab is an advantage.
